Swimming is one of the most complete sports in the world. A full-body workout without putting strain on your joints! Yet many adults run into obstacles:
Beginners sometimes feel unsure in the water or were never properly taught as a child.
Recreational swimmers get out of breath quickly or want to learn a new stroke.
Athletes & triathletes lose time and energy due to suboptimal technique.
Through targeted guidance you break bad habits and learn to swim in a way that feels relaxed, safe and efficient.
Teaching an adult requires a completely different approach than teaching a child. You have a specific goal, perhaps some ingrained habits, and you want to understand why we are doing a certain exercise. After my own competitive swimming career at FIRST, I stayed on as a trainer at Swimming Club Octopus. I now have 7 years of experience in giving swimming training, including to competitive groups. And with a Swimming Instructor diploma and a Senior Lifeguard diploma, you are in good hands. I offer:
Eye for detail:
Through my experience in giving competitive training, I have developed a sharp eye for technique, streamlining and efficiency. I immediately see where you are losing energy and how we can fix this with small adjustments.
Tailor-made:
I don't work with a standard programme, but take your personal goals as a guide. Do you want to be able to swim relaxed lengths on holiday? Or do you want your technique to be perfect for your triathlon? We work towards it together.
Patience and understanding:
Learning to swim as an adult can be quite a challenge. I ensure a calm, safe and relaxed atmosphere where nothing is rushed and everything is allowed. We build up step by step.
Efficiency and speed:
Swimming faster doesn't necessarily mean working harder. I teach you how to optimise your body position and streamlining. By reducing water resistance and refining your technique, you swim faster and more efficiently, with much less energy expenditure. View the prices for more info.
